This is a riot to run, thanks for posting. I think I might try "you move like a Dwarf" in slot 6. Edit: I didn't like that skill for this run, I will keep testing.

They don't drop anything special realy, I'd stick to them for strictly practise purposes.
Anyway, I've been having a lot of fun with the farm. Took me a couple tries to get spirit placement+pulling of first chamber, and some toying around with the first mindblade mob, but now I can reliably hit both ice wastes and chaos plains. I just have to commend you on making a build so creative, yet to blatantly simple that even I could run it.
On a side note, no ecto yet, so I'm slightly worried (4 full ice wastes clears, and 1 full chaos plains clear plus multiple partial clears that ended poorly) could it have anything to do with me being logged in for the last 5 days? My terra tank usually nets around 10e on chaos plains, so that's what troubled me the most.

Great build. I've been running "Finish Him!" in slot 6 with some success.

Finish Him works well, although it's energy-intensive. I find Drunken Stance very useful, as with it you can maintain Stormchaser even at 2-3 norn (my title ;d).

Well, I haven't done any solo UW since the protective bond days, so I'm having a bit of trouble with some general things
How do you not aggro the aataxes? They seem to aggro whenever a dying nightmare pops up, and a lone aataxe always seems to follow a group of grasping darknesses. Obviously I'm not getting something here.

Uhm. You do not dont aggro. You either farm aatxes or run past them. Anything with at least +25% speed boost will eventually make them give up. Flame Djinn's used to be nice, warriors use Sprint/Enraging Charge, dervishes use Pious Haste, mesmers or rits not farming aatxes use Illusion of Haste. And try not to aggro any grasping darknesses after the chamber ones, because they don't give up that easily.

I mean, I can't seem to pull just the darknesses
If I flatbow them from the bottom of the stairs, a lone aatxe invariably seems to get aggroed, and if I try to draw them by moving my aggro bubble into them from below, a dying nightmare pops up and ends up getting the attention of an aatxe

You do next:
Wait for Benton to start running.
Go to spirit and get quest.
Run to the center of chamber, near ghosts.
Aggro normally grasping, hit X and activate running stance. You need it, rly.
Run as far as you can, but don't aggro other groups.
PWN BASTARDS!!!
Repeat till all are dead.
And that's it. Don't use bows to pull, it won't work as well.

I just finished finals so I am gonna try and get around to updating the guide and adding a few other ranger builds as well. I also want to say about not aggroing the aaxte there are many videos around here from other farms if they really give you a huge amount of trouble you could bring heroes that would allow you to kill them as well.

Does armor matter, liek should u have +10 vs fire armor, or is it not important?

A set of armor with the highest energy is more useful than the fire set.
